Complete the Shape

- Materials: Complete the Shape sheet, rulers
Issue a ruler to each student. Discuss how to use rulers to draw lines. Explain that rulers are tools that are used for drawing straight lines. Point out that rulers must be placed at specific points and then the edge of the ruler is traced with a pencil to draw a straight line on the paper. Mention that rulers are also used to measure short distances.
Issue a Complete the Shape sheet and a ruler to each student. Model how students use rulers to draw more sides.
Have students draw more sides to show the specified number of sides and vertices to create the shape specified in
each example.
